GOT7 will not renew their contracts with JYP Entertainment

In December, some news began to circulate online over the group potentially separating from their entertainment company. As the date that marked the end of their contract started to approach, many wondered if the members would choose to renew the contract or part ways. After seven years together the members of the group GOT7 have decided to leave JYP Entertainment.

The company confirmed the news on January 11 by stating that “both sides have agreed not to renew the contract” and that they “will sincerely cheer on the new future that the GOT7 members will advance into,” according to a translation by Soompi.

On Twitter, member BamBam posted images of GOT7’s discography with the caption “I’m proud” and member Mark posted on both Twitter and Instagram a heart-felt message celebrating the group’s achievements, while also looking forward to the future: “The past 7 years have been the best years of my life . . . Nothing is coming to an end, just the beginning. The seven of us are going to continue to bring you guys the best version of us till the end.” In his message, he also included the #GOT7Forever as well as an image of the group, which has since been shared by the other members too.
